The founder and chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett, will skip his customary presence at the platform during the company’s 2026 shareholder meeting, as stated by the Omaha World-Herald on Sunday.
Buffett will sit alongside the company’s board of directors instead, with his successor and current vice chairman, as well as incoming CEO Greg Abel, fielding questions, according to the report.

As per Buffett’s request, Abel will step up next year, the report mentioned, quoting Susie Buffett, Warren Buffett’s daughter and a member of the Berkshire board.
Abel informed the press that the subsequent yearly gathering would take place in Omaha on May 2nd. Reuters was unable to verify this information promptly, and Berkshire had not yet addressedReuters' inquiry for commentary at that time.

Earlier this month, the firm stated that Buffett would stay as chairman once Abel assumes the role of CEO.
Two days following Buffett's announcement of his retirement during the firm's yearly gathering in Omaha – an event marking his impending departure from his role as CEO after leading the iconic investor's company for six decades at the age of 94 – Berkshire revealed that information.
